structured.json-ld-parseStructured data that search engines cannot read
Why it matters
JSON-LD is the block of data behind rich results: review stars, prices, FAQs, breadcrumbs, your logo in the knowledge panel. It has to be valid JSON, and JSON is unforgiving: one trailing comma, a smart quote pasted from a document, or an unescaped " in a product name, and the whole block is discarded. Search Console files it under "Unparsable structured data"; nothing on the page looks wrong, and the rich result simply never appears or quietly disappears.
Source: Unparsable structured data report: "structured data found on your site that could not be parsed because of a serious syntax error". It costs rich results, not indexing.
How to fix it
Paste the block into a JSON validator to find the exact character, fix it, then confirm with Google's Rich Results Test. The usual three causes: a comma after the last item, curly quotes (“ ”) instead of straight ones, and a " or a line break inside a value that needs escaping:
<script type="application/ld+json">
{ "@context": "https://schema.org", "@type": "Organization", "name": "Flour & Co", "url": "https://www.example.com/" }
</script>If a plugin writes the block, the fault is usually in the text you gave it: look for quotes in titles and descriptions.
