Privacy policy

Last updated 20 September 2026

SeoGuard is run by The Micro Forge. The scanner needs no account, and this page says everything it keeps.

When you scan a page

  • The result (the address you scanned, what we found, the link previews) is stored for 30 days at an unguessable address, so you can share it. Then it is deleted. Anyone with the link can see it; nobody can find it without.
  • Your IP address is not stored. We keep a keyed hash of it, under a key that changes every month, to limit how often one person can scan and to deal with abuse. It can't be turned back into an address, by us or anyone else.
  • The page itself is fetched by our scanner (SeoGuardBot), read, and discarded. We keep the findings and the head of the page (title, status, redirects, the share image's size), not its content.
  • Share images load from the scanned site, in your browser, without a referrer. That site sees a request from you, as it would if you visited it.

If we ask you to prove you are a person

After a few scans in an hour we show a Cloudflare Turnstile check. It is loaded only then, and Cloudflare processes what it needs to run it under its own privacy policy. It sets no advertising cookies.

The waiting list

If you leave an email address to hear when site monitoring opens, we keep it, with the page you had just scanned, until we have sent that one email or you ask us to delete it. It is used for nothing else and shared with nobody.

Cookies and tracking

None. No analytics scripts, no advertising, no cookies of our own, and nothing loaded from anyone else's servers: the fonts are served from ours.

If you sign in, your browser keeps two things in its own storage for this site, and sends them nowhere but here: the token that keeps you signed in, until you log out, and the team and billing country you last chose. Logging out removes the token.

Your rights

You can ask what we hold about you, and to have it deleted, by writing to hello@getseoguard.com. To have a scan result removed before its 30 days are up, send us its link. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
