Errormeta.title-missing

The page has no title

Why it matters

The <title> is the blue link in a search result, the text on the browser tab, the name of a bookmark, and what networks fall back to when a page is shared without an og:title. Without one, Google invents a title from whatever it finds on the page, and it is rarely the one you would have chosen. With two, which one is used is up to each reader.

Source: Influencing your title links in search results: "Make sure every page on your site has a title specified in the <title> element."

How to fix it

Add one <title> inside <head>, saying what this page is and whose site it is:

<title>Wedding cakes in Leeds | Flour & Co</title>

If there are two, the theme and a plugin are probably both writing one: switch one off.

Examples

These are the rule's own test pages, and what it says about each. They are run on every change to the rule book.
